Dakota's Pride Baked Beans (from Aldi)

I like to think I'm picky about baked beans. In general, the only baked beans I like straight out of the can are Bush's. I got a couple of 28 ounce cans of Aldi's beans (Dakota's Pride) and we had the "Country Style" for dinner tonight. They were excellent, and I highly recommend them. As I bought them a few weeks ago, I don't recall how much I paid for them so I cannot offer an ounce to ounce cost comparison to Bush's, but I'm certain there is a significant price difference.

  1. I absolutely love Dakota's Pride Steakhouse Beans, but can no longer find them in any of my local Aldi stores. I am from Pinellas County Florida . Have they been discontinued?

    1. We have been trying to buy them at our Aldis also for past two month. We live near Buffalo, NY. I hope they start ordering again!

    2. We opened and warmed up our first can of Aldi’s Dakota Pride Beans. Nearly half the fan was liquid and what happened to the dark red bake bean juice? Looked like anemic baked beans. Suggestion from a southern Texas gal, ingredients for real baked bean sauce are ketchup, brown sugar, fried crumbled bacon, and beans. Cook slow ad allow the sauce to become thickened.

    3. I used to tout as wonderful, no high fructose until I found piece of plastic/foreign object in my can

    4. I think they changed the recipe too! They have a funky taste now. Really juicy too. Took all my cans back.

  2. Bought by (lucky) mistake. Surprised how tasty the steakhouse variety turned out to be. Took to the river cabin of friends, everyone thought they were more favorable than Buschs. Price is reasonable, highly recommend to any bean Lover, hot or cold!!

  3. I miss these beans too. I used to be able to buy them a few months ago but they are no longer on our shelves at Aldi's. I have 2 cans left. Will have to ration them.

  4. Nearest Aldis to me is 75 miles away! And yes the Dakota beans are great! Worth the trip? Maybe... Went to the local big fair in Escanaba and Aldis is close, so we went to stock up!
